How do I manage my account?

You only need an account for site scans; a page scan never asks for one. Press Create account in the header to make one, or Sign in. Once you are in, Your sites is in the header, and the round picture beside it opens your account menu, with Manage account and Sign out.

  1. Create an account

Press Create account in the header. The Create a free account page says what it is for: “Free, and it stays free.” Sign up with GitHub or Google, or with an email address and a password, and follow the card’s steps.

  2. Sign in

Press Sign in in the header and use the same way you signed up. If a page sent you to sign in, such as a site scan that belongs to an account, the sign-in page names it: “Sign in and we’ll take you straight back to” that page, and it does.

  3. Find your sites

Signed in, the header swaps Sign in and Create account for Your sites, which lists every site you have scanned. Scan a site starts a new one. How do I read Your sites?, under More help below, walks through that page.

  4. Change your details, or sign out

Press the round picture at the right of the header. The menu shows the email address you signed in with, then Manage account and Sign out.

Manage account opens your account in a window over the page. Profile holds your email addresses and any connected GitHub or Google sign-in; Security holds your password and the devices you are signed in on. Sign out signs you out of this browser.

  5. Know where our emails come from

When a site scan you started finishes, we email the address on your account, once for that run, from scans@milkmoonstudio.com. The subject names the site, such as “Your scan of” your site “is ready”, and the email links to the report.

  6. Delete your account

Press the round picture at the right of the header, then Manage account. Under Security, press Delete account and confirm. Or email jakes@milkmoonstudio.com and ask.

Your email address, sign-in details, the sites you added and your site scans go with it, and any share link you made stops working.

Your scan results stay public at their own links, because they were never stored against you: the history of an address shows what was found and when, not who asked.
