Is your site ready to be devoured by AI?

Answer engines are eating the web. We'll check how your site tastes to them — classic SEO, AI readiness, structured data, the lot — and show you what's off the menu and what good looks like.

What is AEO, and how is it different from SEO?

AEO (answer-engine optimisation) is making your site easy for AI answer engines — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews — to read, understand, and cite. SEO is about ranking in traditional search results. Bot Appétit checks both, since they increasingly overlap.

Is Bot Appétit free?

Yes — completely free. The scan on this page needs no signup at all: enter a URL and you get a 0–100 score with a category-by-category breakdown in about 20 seconds (the live performance data takes a little longer). The multi-page scan is free too — it only asks for an account because it runs in the background for several minutes and needs somewhere to keep your results.

Is it really free? What is the catch?

There is no catch. Every check, every score and every report is free, and a single-page scan needs no account at all — you do not even have to tell us who you are. An account exists for one reason: a multi-page scan runs in the background for several minutes, so it needs somewhere to put the results when it finishes. That somewhere becomes your history, so you can come back later and watch a site’s score move as you fix things. We are Milk Moon Studio, a web studio — we built this because sites machines cannot read are the problem people hire us to solve, and the scan is how we show our work.

What does the scan actually check?

54 checks across security, SEO, structured data, AEO, AI access, and links, plus 10 more in an Advanced agent & MCP readiness course — 64 checks in all — and live Core Web Vitals from Google PageSpeed. Every check is listed and explained on the “what we check” page.

Does it scan my whole site?

Yes, if you ask it to. The free scan on this page reads the single page you enter, along with that site’s robots.txt, sitemap, llms.txt, security.txt, favicon, its /.well-known/ agent files, an AI-discovery DNS lookup, and a missing-page probe. The multi-page scan works through a representative sample of your site instead, and gives every page it visits its own full report — the same checks in the same detail, because a site scan is simply many page scans. It is free and needs an account.

Will blocking AI crawlers hurt me?

If your robots.txt blocks crawlers like GPTBot, ClaudeBot, or PerplexityBot, those AI answer engines can’t read or cite your content — so you disappear from AI answers. Bot Appétit flags when that’s happening, and caps the verdict at “Undercooked” no matter how good the rest of the page is: a site AI can’t read isn’t ready for AI, however tidy its markup.

Can I track how my score changes over time?

Yes — every scan of the same page is kept, so the results show a history of that exact URL with the score change between each one. Scan a page again after making a fix and you can see whether it moved the number, and which category moved it. There’s no signup and nothing to set up; the history builds itself as you scan.

Can I share my results, or come back to them later?

Yes — every scan gets its own permanent link you can copy, bookmark, or send to a client or developer. It opens the full report for anyone with the link, no signup needed, and it always shows that scan exactly as it was on the day — including the performance measured at the time, not today’s. Every scan in your history has its own link too, so you can share a past result as easily as the latest one.
